Daily Routines
- Check Feeding Plan
- Head count and visual inspection - adjust Feeding Plan based on body
condition
- Check water
Feeding Plan
- Forage only except:
- To catch
- One month before kidding - 1# / bred doe / day
- Three weeks after kidding - 1# / doe / day
- Feed hay free choice as forage availability requires
- Creep feed all kids two weeks after weaning
Weekly Routines
- Evaluate pasture rotation
- Check mineral
- Check protein blocks
Monthly Routines
- Clean and lime sheds as needed
- Trim hooves as needed
- Famacha score and worm as needed
January 28th through May 31st
At Birth
- Move doe to birthing pen - vaccinate for CD&T
- Use heat lamp as needed
- Feed
- Give doe mixture of 8 tablespoons of sugar, 4 teaspoons of salt, 1/4
teaspoon of baking soda in 5 quarters of warm water
- Weigh kids - record to calculate 90day ADG
- CD&T vaccinate kids
- Vaseline kids bottoms
- Iodine treat kids naval cord and hooves
- Install ear tag with ABGA year letter-sire initial-birth number
At 3-5 Days
- Trim hooves
- Worm doe and move with kids from birthing pen
Daily Routines

- Feed 1 lb of goat feed / hay
May through September Monthly Working Routines
- Cull all exposed does with no kids.
- Cull all adult does with
single births.
- Cull all does with kids that don't meet the minimum
.2lbs per day 90day ADG-doe-ling / .3lbs per day 90day ADG-buck-lings.
- Cull
all doe-lings that don't meet minimum .2lbs per day 90day ADG.
- Cull
all buck-lings that don't meet minimum .3lbs per day 90day ADG.
August Monthly Working Routine
- Trim hooves and worm all breeding bucks and does.
September 1st through January 2nd
- Move bucks to does for breeding
January 2nd
- Move breeding bucks from does
- Trim hooves / worm / CD&T vaccinate
At Three Weeks
- Worm / CD&T vaccinate all kids
At Three Months
- Weigh, calculate, and record 90day ADG of all buck-lings and doe-lings
- Wean all buck-lings and doe-lings
- Worm
